Crispin Lewis - Bass Baritone

Crispin Lewis (bass-baritone) originally studied violin at the Royal College of Music (postgraduate) and at Trinity Laban Conservatoire (undergraduate), before going on to study conducting and singing.  Recently he has performed roles including King Rene in Tchaikovsky's Iolanta; Mozart's Don Alfonso (which he will reprise later this year) in Cosi Fan Tutte; Mozart's Figaro (title role); Mozart's Leporello (Don Giovanni); and Sid in Britten’s Albert Herring.  He gives solo recitals regularly and is the soloist for many choral societies.  As a choral director his regular ensembles include The Musicall Compass (early music ensemble), Carillon (chamber choir) and two choral societies. He has directed his own vocal ensembles many times at Wigmore Hall, in many BBC Radio 3 broadcasts, and at St John’s Smith Square, Kings Place Hall One, Royal Opera House, Linbury Theatre, and at the South Bank Centre.
