David Crew

Baritone

David began singing with the Harpenden Light Operatic Society (HLOS) alongside his father and uncle, whilst he was still at school. He has played most of the baritone leads in Gilbert and Sullivan for HLOS over the years and has also sung with the Stewartby Gilbert and Sullivan Society and the Abbots Langley Gilbert and Sullivan Society as well as the Putteridge Bury G&S Society (PBGS). With PBGS he has also performed at the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival; having been joined at PBGS by both his daughters, continuing the family tradition! As well as G&S shows, David has also performed in a number of musicals, such as "The Merry Widow", "My Fair Lady", "Half a Sixpence" and "Chess". He was particularly pleased o have been recognised with the NODA area award for Best Male Performance in a Musical, for his performance as Pooh Bah in "The Mikado" with PBGS in 2014.

David is also a consummate concert performer with a wide ranging repertoire. He particularly enjoys singing with Felici in the "Time for Tea" concerts where he can sing his favourite songs followed by partaking of tea and cake!
